Too Big, Too Deep, Too... Too

So now that the NCAA regions are over, it's left until next year, when the Final Four returns there, to try and unravel the mystery of why teams can't shoot at Houston's NRG Stadium. Even with the end zone seats behind the temporary on-field stands blocked off with curtains, players' depth perception HAS to be affected -- the seats behind the baskets are set way back, unusually far from the baseline (except for a few rows of press tables), and that HAS to throw everyone off. It's happened every time they use the stadium, including the 2011 Final Four. Shooting percentages are awful there. Why do they insist on using the place? Really, are they that desperate for a big payday that they HAVE to hold the Final Four in a dome seating 60,000 or more? (New York Times)
