No Business Is Your Family Unless You Own A Majority Of Stock In It
-
Okay, I like the Wawa convenience store chain as much as the next guy from the mid-Atlantic or Florida regions. They're good stores with good sandwiches and Tastykakes, and when I lived in the Philadelphia area, I'd go there practically daily for munchies and newspapers. But I don't have an emotional attachment to the place, which is why it strikes me as odd that this woman, who doesn't even live in that area anymore, is fervently pleading in an open letter to the owners for them to not close the first Wawa in Folsom, PA. Store 1 is slated to be closed because it's tiny compared to the modern versions and they're building a super Wawa with gas pumps and plenty of parking nearby. She says that it's part of her family, which is a little... extreme. It's her father's favorite store, she says. Does she think that a company should keep an old, outmoded store open because it has sentimental value to her? (WCAU-TV/Philadelphia)
