They've Had Long Enough To Get This Working Right
-
The story about a couple of cases in Washington in which people had to call 911 during home invasion burglaries includes one about a woman who called 911 from her closet while the burglary was taking place, but ended up getting routed to the wrong jurisdiction. It's a reminder that they haven't fixed the problem of 911 calls from cell phones yet. If your call is connected to a tower that isn't right near you, it might take longer for them to figure out where you are. There has to be a better way to do this, maybe by accessing the GPS information in your phone, which some people might find an invasion of privacy but would probably work better than the way we have it now.(WJLA-TV/Washington)
