Didn't Miss Much, But That's Not The Point

One more fight thing: The pay-per-view glitches were epic, caused the fight to be delayed, and should never have happened. And according to this report, some Time Warner subscribers were told they'd have a 12-hour wait for customer service. That transcends "inexcusable" all the way into "I'll never order another PPV again" territory. But it also might mark the end of pay-per-view in another way: Periscope. There were countless people just streaming their TV screens on Periscope. I have a feeling every big event will get this treatment from now on. And there's nothing the promoters can do about it. (I was able to get the fight for free, legally, because I live within reach of Mexican broadcast TV signals from Tijuana that had it on about a 10 minute delay, and we were able to pull it in with a cheap indoor antenna, but I didn't care much because I'm not a boxing fan and the whole Beadle-Nichols-USA Today credential flap and Mayweather's history left me uninterested.)
