This article doesn't tell you much about commercial characters like The Most Interesting Man In The World, Flo from Progressive, or the Old Spice Guy, nor the actors behind them, but it's interesting that advertisers try to develop those characters in blatant attempts to go viral. And it's interesting to think about why some DO go viral -- does anyone NOT know who Flo or the Most Interesting Man are? -- and some don't (they REALLY want Jan from Toyota to be a viral thing, but she doesn't really DO anything).
