Nothing That Can't Be Fixed By Big Raises And Insane Pensions

An unscientific poll conducted by -- surprise -- the American Federation of Teachers finds that teachers say they have too much stress and too little appreciation, with AFT President Randi Weingarten saying, "96 percent of teachers or educators are physically or emotionally exhausted at the end of the day." BOO HOO. EVERYONE is tired and stressed and exhausted. They blame elected officials, the media, and school boards. Lest you think I'm unsympathetic, my father was not only a teacher and principal for his entire career, he was also a union head. And I think teachers deserve respect and society should highly value education. But when they make it as if they're the only downtrodden, stressed profession, they're just being willfully out of touch. (NJ Advance Media/NJ.com)
