After all the furor and the '08 crash and Occupy, how have CEOs fared in recent years? It's back to the days of massive compensation for the bosses, some of whom are making astronomical money while the economy is still struggling to get back to equilibrium. Some things have gone away -- Dodd-Frank killed off having employers pay the taxes on golden parachutes, stock options are now more likely tied to performance, and some pension things have been cut back, but, still, being a CEO means being paid huge money, and the question as always is, are they worth it? And if stockholders don't object, does it matter? (New York Times)
