Researchers say that up to a QUARTER of the skin cells of middle-aged people are on the road to skin cancer -- they show DNA mutations that would lead to melanoma, eventually, if multiple mutations happen to occur in the right (or wrong, depending on how you look at it) volume. But they point out that a) most of the cells function normally and may never turn into cancer, and b) the way to prevent it is to always, ALWAYS protect yourself from the sun, from day one.
