When Analog Is Better
-
A couple in suburban Chicago died of carbon monoxide poisoning when their car kept running in the garage while they were in the house, and the reason it was running was apparently that the car has a keyless ignition. No key, so no key to turn off the engine, and if you forget, you can die. This happens more than it should, and it raises the question of why all cars with key fob starters don't have an alarm or something to alert you when you get out of the car with the engine still running. Or maybe it can alert you when the key fob is a certain distance away from the ignition, so you won't walk away. (Chicago Tribune)
