No Money, No Problem

Is cash dead? The question arises after hearing about how airports are having a hard time convincing banks to put ATMs in airport terminals. The reason: You don't need cash there. You can't pay for anything on the plane in cash. You can get an Uber to and from the airport, and taxis and parking take cards. All the shops and restaurants in the terminals take cards, and many are starting to take Apple Pay, too. I can think of one thing you DO need cash for there: tips. But since the airport takes a 50% cut of the ATM fees, banks lose money on airport ATMs, and the banks are just saying no. (Minneapolis Star-Tribune)
