The Originals Have Their Charm, In Lieu Of Arch Support

You would think that a loyalist like me who has worn Converse hi-top Chuck Taylor All-Star sneakers for... well, almost 50 years now, geez.... would be upset that they've redesigned the classic. And, with Nike owning Converse, you'd be concerned about what they'd do to it. But I'm not only fine with the new Chuck IIs, I'll be buying a pair as soon as I can get 'em. That's because as I get older, my feet are demanding cushioning, and I was seriously thinking about switching to a basketball shoe with padding galore. Seems like the new Chucks incorporate 2015 tech in the soles and on the interior but look mostly the same on the outside (there's a stripe missing, but I can live with that). Bring the new ones on. I want them. In fact, I can't wait. (Bloomberg)
