$750'll Buy You The Arizona Coyotes
-
The Pittsburgh Penguins are for sale, and TSN is reporting that the owners want $750 million for the franchise, once teetering on the edge of extinction but now a solidly successful club. But $750 million? That would be a record for a U.S. hockey team. And if Pittsburgh is worth that much and the league wants $500 million for expansion teams, what would the Rangers or Kings or Blackhawks or Flyers or Bruins or Wings be worth? Ah, that's the idea. If they can find a deep-pocketed sucker to pay three quarters of a billion for the Pens, the other owners will see their valuations go through the roof. (TSN)
