Outta The Way, Sick Kids, More Important Guy Coming Through
-
Common sense is in short supply, which might explain why the Secret Service threw kids with cancer out of the park across from the White House. The shorthand is that the kids and their supporters were holding a vigil, "CureFest for Childhood Cancer," raising awareness and funds for research. They had a permit and it was a big event with music and speakers. Why were they thrown out? Because the President was on the move to a Congressional Black Caucus gala. They couldn't plan a way to get the President there without shutting down a cancer event? With kids who might not even live to see next year's event? The Secret Service is apologizing, but, really, this is something someone could have foreseen. (Washington Post)
