Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, running for re-election, justified his opposition to legalize pot by proclaiming that there is "overwhelming and growing evidence" that pot is "infinitely worse" for you than tobacco with "bad long-term effects." Of course, there is no such evidence. Pot isn't good for you, that's true, but it's nothing close to being as lethal as tobacco. In 2015, can a politician get away with a staunch anti-pot stance when so much of the population's used the stuff and knows it's not the "Demon Weed" he says it is? (Toronto Star)
