Something I've thought about for years: Some experts suggest that our dependence on technology to do what we used to do in our heads, from knowing math to knowing facts, is causing an erosion of human memory. I believe it. If kids don't HAVE to know how to do math because a calculator can do it, and don't HAVE to do their own research and gathering of knowledge because they can always look things up on Wikipedia, there's going to be a point when we have a society of people who can't do things WITHOUT the Internet. That would not be good. (BBC)
