We'll Get Right On It... Oh, Look, Donuts
-
Someone called the cops with a tip in 1992, saying that he'd seen a girl who looked a lot like missing child Jaycee Dugard at a gas station, staring at a "Missing" poster with her picture on it. And he saw her then get into a yellow van. Today, 18 years later, we know where she was, held captive and raped by Phillip Garrido, who lived two miles away from that gas station and drove, yes, a yellow van. So the cops had a tip about her whereabouts 18 years ago and didn't follow up other than to go to the gas station, see that the van was gone, and forget it. They didn't, oh, I don't know, do a search on yellow vans registered in the area? Put out an APB for a yellow van? The cops have their excuses, but it looks like they just plain dropped the ball, repeatedly.
