That's Not West Covina! That's Pomona! I'm Writing A Stern Complaint Letter
-
The CW's new "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" is set in, of all places, West Covina, CA, a suburb of L.A. that is not what you think of when you think of Southern California. And the locals loved it, especially since one of the pilot's production numbers (yes, it's a sort of musical) is a paean to West Covina, and West Covina isn't the subject of too many songs. (Any songs, until now, that is.) But there are always "THOSE People," and in this case "THOSE people" were put off because, in the show, they say that West Covina's two hours from the beach, four in traffic, and that's not true. (It's about an hour and change away, two in traffic.) Which raises the question: Is that nitpicking? Do you demand accuracy in your comedic entertainment? (Los Angeles Daily News)
