When Pancakes Become A Civil Rights Issue
-
A man is suing a restaurant in Vancouver, WA alleging that they demanded he prepay for breakfast because he's black. The chain of which that location is a franchise issued a statement saying their policy isn't to make anyone prepay, but they didn't say that the franchisee didn't do that. So, if this really did happen, that's pretty blatant racism. And if it did happen, would you -- regardless of what race you are -- go back there? That is, if you personally weren't subjected to racism there but you knew that others were, could you go back there in good conscience? (KATU-TV/Portland)
