Because Rum Is THAT Important
-
The thing about this man's conviction for murdering his mother is the apparent reason for the final argument: They fought because he drank her rum. She bought a bottle, he drank from it, she objected, he strangled her. And, apparently, he has a history of crimes committed that involve drinking someone else's alcohol. He also used the novel defense that he could not be convicted because he was too drunk to form the intent to murder. Clever, but no. (Eugene Register-Guard)
