Let The TV Networks And Nike Pay For All That
-
The revolution's slowly taking shape: Students hit by "activity fees" that help pay for expensive intercollegiate sports programs are beginning to fight back, unwilling to pay $50 or $75 or even several hundred dollars a year -- mandatory -- to help fund lavish football or basketball programs even if the students don't go to the games nor care about sports. It's legal (we assume) extortion: If you wanna get your degree, you have to pay tribute to the jocks. If you want to give them your money, fine, but should it be mandatory for everyone?
