Might As Well Go For A Snickers
-
The people who make Kind bars -- those granola-y "healthy" candy bars -- are, as you might remember, embroiled in a dispute with the FDA, which wants them to stop calling their product "healthy." But they're fighting back by pointing out that the FDA's own guidelines are hopelessly outdated in a way that makes a lot of healthy foods -- nuts, even salmon -- ineligible to be considered "healthy." It's about fats, and the FDA not updating to make a distinction between saturated and unsaturated. The article points out that the bars are still loaded with sugar, though. And I'll point out that you CAN look at the nutritional panel on the wrapper and make your own determination. (Fast Company)
