A federal court has thrown out a guy's conviction under the Stolen Valor Act, saying that wearing military medals like the Purple Heart which you didn't earn is protected by the First Amendment. And that might be the case, which suggests that the law was written the wrong way. Maybe they should have made faking military service legal, but also making punching the face of anyone doing so equally legal. (KNSD-TV/San Diego)
