And It's Sweet, Tasty, Creamy Pesticide
-
General Mills is suing Chobani in a war of Greek yogurt brands, because a Chobani TV ad says that General Mills' Yoplait Greek 100 contains a pesticide and is toxic. The ads did the same to Dannon, which is also in a legal row over it. Here's the thing: The "pesticide" is actually potassium sorbate, which can be used in mild pesticides. So can cinnamon, peppermint, and garlic. In other words, it's food and it's safe. And if it's technically true, it's also deceptive -- and too common in the health food world -- to insinuate that something that won't hurt you is somehow poison. (Minneapolis Star-Tribune)
