Why, They Can Now Be The West Coast Equivalent Of East Rutherford

Oh, please: I live not far from Inglewood, CA, which is, of course, where the Los Angeles Rams are moving. And this article is about how Inglewood "lost its identity" when the Lakers moved and is getting it back with the NFL. And that is just so much bull. Inglewood, when the Lakers and Kings were at the Forum and Hollywood Park still had racing, was still considered a below-median economy, "the 'hood," not the nicest town in the area. Losing the teams did not change anything other than that if you wanted to go see the games, you now had to go downtown to Staples. And having the Rams for 8 regular season games and 2 preseason games will not change that perception; most people who go for the games will do what they did for the Lakers, just drive straight there and drive straight home. Inglewood, and L.A., were not diminished by the absence of pro sports. It made zero difference. (Daily Breeze, Torrance)
