Clearly, He Didn't Read Anthony Bourdain's Book Before Taking The Job
-
Taken at face value, this case involves a guy who took a job at the (terrific, by the way) branch of Mario Batali's Eataly Italian market/restaurant in Manhattan and is suing because the Mexican workers there called him gringo and insulted him, making his employment stressful. You can discuss it on that level, and whether the insults allegedly hurled his way were indeed intolerable and actionable. But then you read that the guy happens to also be a very active anti-Obama, anti-immigrant social media activist, posting all sorts of stuff that might make you think that maybe, just maybe, the allegations might have been motivated by something other than the suit indicates. Just in case, though, the plaintiff reportedly pulled his Facebook page down, lest what he posted be used against him. (New York Daily News)
