Driverless Cars Can't Get Here Soon Enough
-
The feds are investigating problems with Fiat Chrysler gearshifts, and the reason is something related to things I've talked about and experienced: The electronic shifters are confusing enough that people are leaving their cars in gear when they stop and get out, leaving the car to roll away. I'm still getting used to the push-button keyless start and stop, which is WAY too easy to leave going when you get out. With new transmissions, it's hard to tell if the car's actually turned off. Car tech, from audio and nav systems to the way they drive and turn on and off, has gotten more advanced than our brains are, and maybe it's going too fast. (Reuters)
