Your Mattress Wouldn't Treat You That Way

Yes, consumers now hate banks. The banks blame Congress for harsh credit card legislation, but the fact remains that the banks don't HAVE to raise interest to usurious levels or cut credit limits to harm credit ratings. They don't HAVE to raise minimum payments to unreasonable levels and they don't HAVE to refuse to consider modifying loans to help consumers through tough times. They do it because everyone else is doing it, so where are you gonna go? And that's how you get people with good credit considering just plain not paying their credit card debt; the banks just won't listen otherwise, and do not believe them when they say they're willing to talk to you if you come in early enough to work things out, because that's a lie.
