Once You Develop A Taste For Cats, Roadkill Deer Just Won't Do

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has issued a report nothing that it is not infrequent that house pets are being eaten by mountain lions. As in the story we had from Minnesota about the wolf showing up in Duluth to eat a guy's dog, you're taking a chance when you let your pet out of the house. How do they know this is happening? Lion autopsies: They analyze the contents of dead mountain lions' stomachs. Moral: Keep your pets within sight, at least. And don't let them run free anywhere where mountain lions or coyotes might be. I'd watch out for those raccoons, too; sneaky little bastards, they are. (San Francisco Chronicle)
