A Strategically-Placed Thumb Would Have Saved Everyone A Lot Of Trouble
-
The need people feel for posting pictures of everything they do on the Net is so strong that they do stuff like this woman who won a $100 gift card in that Tim Horton's contest where you roll up the rim of your coffee cup and posted a picture of the winning cup BEFORE cashing it in... and a Facebook friend of hers saw it, noted the security code visible in the picture, and cashed in the prize. The woman who posted the picture was initially told that she couldn't claim the prize because it had already been claimed. Lucky for her that the local franchisee is backing her and she'll get her $100 of coffee and Timbits, but you don't post pictures of anything that can be used for identification of any kind. And she now has to figure out which of her Facebook friends isn't really much of a friend. (Toronto Star)
