And They Don't Drink Cappuccino After Breakfast, Either

Coals to Newcastle. Cheesesteaks to Manayunk. Coffee to Italy. Even the company's head, Howard Schultz, seems to be fully aware that opening Starbucks in Italy is pretty ballsy and an act of hubris. I mean, they revere their tradition of "bars," which are coffee joints, and they're all over the place. Breaking that habit is going to be incredibly tough. It might be Starbucks' toughest-ever market. But I guess that it's the Last Frontier. Good luck with that. And if it means one place where it'll be easier to find just tea in Italy, I'll be happy. I was going through withdrawal there. (New York Times)
