Wait, What Happened To The Trend Of Moving Back To The City?
-
Meet mega-commuting, meaning 3-hour-or-more round trip commutes; people in places like, as in this article, the southern end of New Castle County, Delaware have a lot of people commuting to places as far afield as Washington, New York, and beyond, which seems awful. Here in L.A., we have a HUGE number of residents of Orange County, southern L.A. county, and, especially, the Inland Empire and High Desert with at LEAST a three-hour round trip every day. The long drives are a tradeoff - local jobs won't pay nearly what you can make in the bigger cities, and the quality of life at home is likely better, or at least safer and more affordable, if you're willing to spend a lot of your day driving.
