Because Life Will Be Immeasurably Better With A Nautica Outlet Right There
-
Remember the Kelo case, the Supreme Court decision that cleared the way for cities to use eminent domain to take people's homes and businesses against their will (at "fair market value" that probably isn't all that fair) and use it not for public projects but to turn over to private developers? Here's how that's playing out: West Haven, CT is threatening to use eminent domain to clear out the last holdout property owners so someone can build an outlet mall. If the idea that a city can decide to take your house or business and give it to someone to put up a Gap outlet store there isn't outrageous to you, well, if it happened to you, you'd feel the way the people who are fighting this in West Haven feel.
