You're Not Entitled To 1st Class Treatment If You're Not Willing And Able To Pay For It
-
The author of this article truly, really wants you to be outraged that there are parts of cruise ships that are kept separate with better amenities from the rest of the ship, with commensurate higher fares. It's classist, according to the author, reinforcing the gap between rich and poor. Which raises the question: Isn't this exactly like a first class seat on a plane? Or like first class on ships all the way back to the Titanic and Queen Mary and any other ship? If you're willing to pay more for a premium experience, why is that suddenly bad? (New York Times)
