Maybe If He'd Banned Mayo Instead, He'd Still Be Employed
-
The chef at a Fort Myers restaurant who banned ketchup and treated customers like he was a dictator has been fired, and he's hardly the only chef like him out there -- the no-ketchup thing is actually based on a guy here in Santa Monica and Culver City who serves gourmet burgers his way and bans ketchup or any other "unapproved" topping -- you can't order it your way, period. And there's the sushi chef who'll throw you out of the restaurant if you order a roll or, really, anything -- he chooses, you eat, period. So, question: Who decides what you get at a restaurant? Is it the chef's call, period, or is the customer's desire paramount even if the chef is repulsed by the order? (Fort Myers News-Press; Thanks to Dave Elliott at WGUF/Naples-Ft. Myers for the link)
