This Block's Not Big Enough For The Both Of Us

Crime Beat: New York is tough and all, but when an ice cream vendor allegedly attacks a pretzel vendor with a baseball bat in what appears to be a turf war, you know a) pople have lost their minds, and b) you're in New York. The ice cream vendor drives a truck for a company that's been in the news for allegedly using threats and intimidation to block Mister Softee from selling in midtown Manhattan, so they take ice cream sales very seriously there. Too seriously. And, yes, this is reminiscent of the underrated 1983 film "Comfort and Joy," which involved ice cream truck turf wars AND radio. (New York Times)
