That'll Teach Him To Do A Nice Thing
-
No good deed goes unpunished, and so a driver in Regina saw what appeared to be a homeless guy on the roadside holding a hard-to-read sign, pulled over, slowed down, popped off his seat belt to get some cash, handed the guy cash, and... got a ticket for driving unbelted, because the "homeless man" was a cop and the whole thing was a sting. Which seems flat out wrong to me: The driver would not have done any of it had the cops not set it up, so there would have been no "crime" had the sting not existed. It's purely a revenue-enhancement operation, because it sure isn't preventing any crime, it's CREATING some petty offenses. (CTV News)
