The moral of the story about the assistant state attorney in Orlando who was fired over Facebook comments about the Pulse shooting -- he complained about how downtown is unsafe, in colorful language, and had previously been disciplined for writing about "crack hos" -- is that, jeez, how many times can people get in trouble for social media posts before we all understand that what you post online can and will be seen by your bosses, by people who disagree with you, by people who will complain if you say something controversial? Your rule of thumb should be this: Do I need to say this in public? (WESH-TV/Daytona Beach-Orlando)
