And Cracking A Window Is Not Enough
-
It wasn't too long ago that we would have a story practically every day about a "baked baby" -- a child left in a hot car to die, usually inadvertently by a forgetful parent. We haven't seen as many stories about that in the national news, but that does not mean that it's gotten more rare. To the contrary, the number of children dying in hot cars has risen, and while the number is 682 since 1998, which doesn't sound like a lot in almost 20 years, that's 682 too many. We can still wonder how anyone could just forget a child like that, but with all the distractions of life and driving, it happens. (Washington Post)
