Ralphs Is My Safe Space
-
That relieved sound you hear is me, because a tentative deal means no grocery workers' strike in Southern California. They had us scared; the last strike was a supreme pain in the ass. You had to go very far to strange off-brand chains to buy food, or cross picket lines made up of the same people who you'll have to deal with when the strike's over. This time, we have more options -- only Ralphs and Vons/Pavilions/Albertsons were in danger of being struck, and we now have not just Costco and Trader Joe's but a lot of Smart and Final Extra stores to fill the gap.
