Hard To Balance 'Quaint' And 'Historic' With 'Safe'
-
The death toll in the Italy earthquake has reached 247, and when this first hit the news, sadly, I expected a large toll. Ever see these towns, and the ancient buildings still in use? One look and you'd know that these entire towns wouldn't stand a chance in a quake. There's no reinforcement, nothing to keep them from crumbling. It's a shame, and it's actually amazing that these places have survived for hundreds and thousands of years, but you hit them with a 6.1 or 6.2 and no way in hell would you expect them to survive.
