We can all agree, can't we, that we've heard enough of "Hallelujah" in TV shows, trailers, and awards ceremonies? I mean, it's a classic, either in the original Leonard Cohen form or Jeff Buckley's definitive version, and it's guaranteed to evoke emotions (as in the Emmys' In Memoriam section this year), but it doesn't even mean, lyrically, what it's used to evoke, and it's become a cliché, which sucks, because it's a good song and now it's been kinda ruined by overuse. Any other songs you can't stand anymore because of too many uses? (New York Times)
