Trying to lose weight? (Yes.) Wearing a Fitbit? (Nah.) If you DO wear a fitness tracker, beware that a study is showing that people who wore fitness trackers while trying to lose weight did worse than those who didn't. You lose weight, but a lot less. And it turns out that the people monitoring their exercise actually exercised less than those who didn't, maybe because they focused on the tech and not the behavior, or that they'd reach goals and it was enough while those who didn't monitor it kept going. Either way, maybe you should save your money. (New York Times)
