What can an airline do when one of its routes happens to be used by a lot of people who would qualify as obese? Hawaiian Airlines has a new seating policy on routes to and from Samoa: no pre-assigned seats, and patrons moved around for weight distribution. Is this discrimination or safety? And if it's the latter, were flights before now unsafe? Also, is this unfair stereotyping of Samoans? (Washington Post)
