It's Cool Until It's Someone You Love
-
Terrible side effect of the wonders of technology: Because it CAN be done, people are happy to rush to post photos of fatal accidents on social media, snapping pictures or taking video and slamming them onto Facebook so that friends and family of the deceased can see it and feel even more pain. Okay, that might not be the intent, but that's how it goes, and what you may think is a cool photo of a wreck and dead bodies will bring someone else unimaginable pain. And once it's posted, it'll live as long as it's Google-able. Some people want the photos banned, although I'm not sure that would even be constitutional. It's sad, though, that there are people who are so without souls that they can't understand why NOT to post those pictures -- they think "everyone has a right to know," even when the only thing they'll "know" is how gory and gruesome someone's tragedy was.
