With Gannett dropping its bid for Tronc (the artist formerly known as Tribune Publishing), the question is, will there be any newspaper companies left in ten years? Because Gannett's struggling enough to have to drop its bid, Tronc -- the L.A. Times, Chicago Tribune, South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Orlando Sentinel, Baltimore Sun -- is wobbling and sold off its real estate so there's not much left to spin off, and who else is gonna buy newspaper companies? Radio groups? (Washington Post)
