Remember, You Can't Get Hit By A Foul Ball Or Broken Bat Watching On TV At Home
-
You didn't notice that a woman was injured during game 7 of the World Series, knocked out by a foul ball. But it happened, and it raises the issue of the extension of the netting in front of the box seats at ballparks, and why it doesn't extend further down the line. Most of the injuries are occurring down past the dugouts, but even the extended netting isn't being put that far down the line. Why not? I know, it's "only a few injuries" and millions of fans come to games without incident, but do we need a death to make it safer? (New York Times)
