It Always Comes Down To Money

Count Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI) among those saying they saw it coming, but in her case it's pretty compelling, since she notes that by the time her pleas to the Clinton campaign to pay attention to what was happening in her Detroit-adjacent district, their efforts were too little, too late. And the concerns were, as I've noted here before, purely economic. People in blue-collar jobs, especially, were and are terrified. Jobs have gone away, any jobs replacing them are lower-paying, and there's no hope. The baggage Trump has is real, too, but how many times have we heard "it's the economy, stupid"? And how did the Clintons, of all people, forget that? (Washington Post)
