Actually, There Should Be A Warning Label That Snow Globes Are Lame
-
California has labeling laws that go further than anyone else's. If there's even a trace of something that some study somewhere has labeled a carcinogen, even at levels that are safe, on goes a label warning that the item could cause cancer, though the label doesn't explain what it is that's carcinogenic, how dangerous it really is, or any other helpful details. It's just there to shock you and make you not want to buy the thing. But up in Canada, they're REALLY confused, because a Lowe's store forgot to remove those California labels and the result was that people were seeing "MAY CAUSE CANCER!" labels on snow globes. The labels didn't explain what the cancer risk was, or how you'd get it -- could you get cancer by touching it? Drinking the fluid inside? Eating the whole thing? Warning labels are a good thing when they make sense. Clearly, they don't always make sense. (CTV News)
