I Doubt This Would Make Getting 'Hamilton' Tickets Any Easier
-
Congress has passed a bill that, if signed by the President, would crack down on ticket-buying bots that scoop up hot tickets for scalpers as soon as they go on sale. It would make using bot software to buy tickets a violation of FTC "unfair and deceptive practice" prohibitions. Have you ever encountered a ticket on-sale in which the tickets were gone before you had a chance to buy them? And how much of this is really the artists' fault? Because a) a lot of tickets are held back for "special" people and promotions and b) if an artist insists on using a fair system, it can be done (like the way Adele tickets were sold in a random order - it took a while, but I was able to buy good seats with little difficulty). Is the bill necessary? (AP via KFMB-TV/San Diego)
