Less A Cry For Help Than A Way-Too-Public Farewell
-
A 14-year-old girl in Miami, a foster child, is the latest to commit suicide on Facebook Live, hanging herself during a live stream. Before you assume people watched and didn't help, a friend called police but when the cops showed up to her house, she gave them the wrong address, and by the time the cops showed up to the right place, it was too late. What I don't understand, though, is how someone's anguish can draw thousands of viewers but so little help; one person called for help, but how many just watched? (Miami Herald)
